Garden Center Manager
The Growing
Scene, Inc., a garden center and landscaping company, is currently
hiring a garden center manager. The manager would be working 5 days per
week or approximately 40 hours. The months of operation are April
through October. Compensation will be made according to the
individual’s experience. Responsibilities include: selling flowers,
shrubs and trees, selling hardgood materials (mulch, fertilizer etc.),
general plant maintenance, developing and implementing marketing ideas
for the garden center and anything else the individual thinks would be
valuable to further the success of this business. Landscape design work
is also possible, depending upon the individual’s interest and
experience.
The Growing
Scene, Inc. is a garden center located just off of the I90 toll way near
the Route 20, Marengo, exit. The Growing Scene is owned by Chris and
Kathi Carr. Since our opening in 1996, we have continued to grow and
expand each year. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to
join our staff as we continue to lay the groundwork for a major
expansion. The manager will work directly with Kathi. Kathi strives to
match the responsibilities to the skills of each individual. Kathi has

Garden Center Retail Sales Person
The Growing
Scene, Inc., a garden center and landscaping company, is currently
seeking a part time, retail sales person. The position will be tailored
to best suit the individual that is hired for the job. Approximate
hours per week are 10-20. The months of operation are April through
October. Compensation will be made according to the individual’s
experience. Responsibilities include: selling flowers, shrubs and
trees, selling hard good materials (mulch, fertilizer etc.), general
plant maintenance, developing and implementing marketing ideas for the
garden center and anything else the individual thinks would be valuable
to further the success of this business. Landscape design work is also
possible, depending upon the individual’s interest and experience.
